Valley of Flowers Trek Route Information (Day-wise)

Day 1 – Rishikesh to Govindghat (Approx. 270 km Drive)

  • Travel through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, and Joshimath before reaching Govindghat.
  • What you'll see & feel: River confluences, towering Himalayan roads, pine forests, and the excitement of entering the mountains.

Day 2 – Govindghat to Ghangaria (Approx. 13 km Trek)

  • Begin the trek via Pulna village following the Lakshman Ganga River until Ghangaria.
  • What you'll see & feel: Forest trails, wooden bridges, waterfalls, colorful wildflowers, and cool mountain air throughout the journey.

Day 3 – Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers and Return (Approx. 10–12 km Trek)

  • Explore the UNESCO-listed Valley of Flowers before returning to Ghangaria.
  • What you'll see & feel: Thousands of blooming alpine flowers, glaciers, streams, butterflies, rare Himalayan plants, and unforgettable mountain landscapes.

Day 4 – Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib (Optional) and Return (Approx. 12 km Trek)

  • Trek uphill to the sacred Hemkund Sahib before descending back to Ghangaria.

Day 5 – Ghangaria to Govindghat (Approx. 13 km Trek)

Day 6 – Govindghat to Rishikesh (Approx. 270 km Drive)

  • Return via Joshimath and the famous Panch Prayag route.

At 3,658 meters, some trekkers may feel slight breathlessness, but proper hydration, slow walking, and gradual acclimatization usually make the trek manageable.
